Insanity at Vegas
Arguably the best in Las Vegas, definitely the best out of three rides on the Stratosphere Tower, Insanity has all the reasons to bear this name.
Well, basically Insanity is just the fast merry-go-round, and what makes it the most thrilling lifetime experience is the location.
First you have to go to the Observation Deck atop of Stratosphere Tower hotel 866 ft above the ground.
Then wait a bit to be one of ten ‘insanely brave’ riders, who are tied to the thick lap bar hanging down from a massive mechanical arm. The arm then slowly moves out of the outline of the building to suspend the riders 40 ft above the deck, which makes 906 ft above the ground.
The bars slowly move to an angle of 70 degrees, which will tilt your body into one position – facing straight down!
And when you hang in the middle of nowhere praying the thickness of the bar you are tied to, Insanity starts to spin in the open air faster and faster to reach three Gs.
Safely back on the observation deck you start to slowly realise, why this ride is called ‘Insanity’.
